In 1992, the 65th Anniversary year of The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, a group of retirees established The M-NCPPC Retirees Association, primarily, to act as the liaison between the retirees and the Employment Retirement Systems Board of Trustees.
The Association's Mission:
(1) Solicit the views and opinions of the membership for the purpose of providing input to the Board of Trustees of the M-NCPPC Employee Retirement System (ERS) and the M-NCPPC. Our overall goal is to protect the interests of our members, keep them informed on vital issues, provide social programs, and to speak out on their behalf when, and if needed. All retirees, vested employees, spouse of a retiree and former Commissioners are cordially invited to join our ranks.
(2) Through periodic communications provide information to retirees to supplement the information they receive from retiree bulletins and current employee newsletters, the association web site and other sources; and
(3) Plan and conduct special events, programs and ceremonies for the retirees and their families so as to enhance the cohesiveness of the family of Commission Retirees.
4) Monitor appropriate legislative meetings, news media and other information sources for events or actions that could impact the welfare of Association members; and report these to the Board of Directors. The Board will decide what action, if any is appropriate to address these concerns
